Last month we updated you on how Vintage 2023 was for Enfant Terrible in McLaren Vale. Now it's time to look at Adelaide Hills.
Some of you would know by now that the vintage was late, really late...like April late and this made us nervous. It was around five weeks late so a bit like expectant parents we were keen to get the 'show on the road'!
On April 17th, we had 40mm rain in two short bursts, but the Sav Blanc fruit was into the crusher unspoilt by the dreaded Botrytis.
Overall, it was an outstanding vintage with a very mild end to the summer combined with a cool autumn, meaning the fruit hung on just that little bit longer with little to no disease pressure. Yields have been excellent although some ongoing effects from the 2019 summer fires still linger on.
