A December to Celebrate!

Updated: Dec 29, 2024

This December we have lots to celebrate! Yes, we have the conventional Christmas Yule Tide time with family but before we even get to Christmas, we have OUR WEDDING!

This December Jen and I are finally 'tying the knot', 'getting hitched' or whatever you want to call it. After 13 years together, a child, a vineyard, a country cottage and more, we decided it was time.

At our house, we don't just celebrate the unconventional, we embrace it so it probably comes as no surprise to you that we didn't follow the conventional path of love, marriage and then babies!

The wedding venue just happens to be here on the NSW South Coast, a 30-minute drive away and is fittingly on acreage with a vineyard, orchard and olive grove. Jacqueline, of course, has a staring role as our Flower Girl and is super excited to be involved in the day and getting all dressed up.

Given we'll be kicking off the end of year festivities early this year, we'll be having a quiet Christmas and will no doubt still be on a high from the wedding celebrations with family and friends.

In the meantime, we've had an exceptional growing season to date with lovely batches of small fruit on a number of vines across both the Chardonnay and the Shiraz. After three years it looks like we'll have our first harvest - giving us another reason to celebrate! It also ensures the vineyard actually looks like a proper vineyard (as opposed to a sad state of affairs after all that rain we had two seasons back).

As to what we'll be drinking, we'll be clinking our glasses with some Rabbit & Spaghetti Sparkling from the Adelaide Hills, followed by our Jacqueline Rosé when the seafood comes out, and pairing our GSM with the lamb to cut through the fat and provide that beautiful savoury flavour.

What will you be serving? How and what will you be celebrating this December?

Happy Christmas shopping!

James, Jen and Jacqueline.
